Brandon Point - Dingle Peninsula
In late August we had a beautiful, bright sunny day so we took a drive. We turned off toward Brandon Bay, just before the main road climbs to Conor Pass. This was new territory for us and it was so beautiful. So, this posting is all scenery - Kerry on a sunny day can't be beat! (If you click to enlarge the one on the left you will see me sitting on the wall.) The yellow flowers are gorse and the purple ones are heather.
A highlight was watching 2 pods(schools) of dolphins - there must have been 15 or 20 in all - jumping and frolicking below us.
In the picture above, some young French tourists are looking down at the dolphins (and a boat passing by). This is what alerted Dana to look down and see them.
Dana thinks this is a chough - a sort of crow that is seen infrequently here.
And, here are some great shots of Mont Bretia. This is the "back-to-school flower" that we have described to many of you who have visited at other times of the year. And the one shot shows it along with the red fuchsia, which blooms a little earlier but lasts into Fall in some areas.

Beautiful.....you look so little on that wall. I love the flowers! Jan
This is nuts!!!
I'm from Sheridan (AR), and am absolutely obsessed with visiting this part of the Emeral Isle. I did a random search for Arkansan blogs and found you.
I look forward to delving into more records of your marvelous adventures. Cheers!
