Castles, castles and more castles
Mary commented that you can't swing a cat in Ireland without hitting a castle - and we have set out to find them all. In the last 2 months we hare really been visiting them - some are major tourist attractions, some are merely abandoned in a field, but we find them all interesting. Here are some of them:
(left)Blarney Castle (yes, I did kiss the stone, though I swore I wouldn't. You may or may not see pictures of that!) right, Ross Castle, Killarney
Fitzmaurice Castle at Ballybunion - above
left: Carrigafoyle Castle'; right - Kilcolman Caslte - where Spenser may have written "The Fairie Queene"
right: Unknown castle, Slea Head
